Images coming soon!

Erica Carr RVT, VTS (Dentistry) feels privileged to have been in the veterinary field for 24 years! She is based in beautiful Colorado Springs, Colorado at Animal Dental Care and Oral Surgery. Working in a specialty dentistry practice has helped her love of dentistry grow into more of a
passion. She is proud to be a part of teaching, organizing, and overseeing veterinary dental classes that are held monthly in Colorado Springs. While Erica is not working, she owns and operates a Mobile Vet Tech business, called Pet 2 Vet Connection, that creates a more relaxed experience for dogs and cats. Erica especially enjoys spending time in her greenhouse, off-
roading in the Colorado mountains with her husband and her rescue Bull Terrier, Falafel, driving her Classic Mini Cooper around town and hanging out with her adult twin boys.

Kaitlyn Lopes, RVT, VTS (Dentistry) graduated from the veterinary technology program at Carrington College and became a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in 2015. She discovered her passion for veterinary dentistry when she started working at Animal Dental Clinic in San Carlos, California seven years ago. She found assisting in dental procedures to be incredibly rewarding, which led her to pursue certification as a veterinary technician specialist in dentistry. She looks forward to training other technicians to enhance their dentistry skills.

When she's not at work, she might be found in the gym, out in nature, or relaxing on the couch with her Siamese cat, Pumpkin.

Sue Johnson, RVT, VTS (Dentistry) has eight years of experience as a Registered Veterinary Technician and joined the team at Companion Animal Dentistry of Kansas City in November 2022. She has always had a passion for animal dentistry and client education and decided to take this passion to the next level by pursuing her VTS (Dentistry). It’s been an experience of a lifetime and the people she’s met and opportunities that have come from this journey have been life-changing. Prior to working in the veterinary industry as a Registered Veterinary Technician, she was in the corporate world, until she decided to follow her passion to work with animals. She loves all animals, and lives with several cats, who rule the home, and a chinchilla. She also has a retired dressage horse, and has been riding since she was a child. She loves hiking, reading and spending time in the mountains.

Ashley Reuter, RVT, VTS (Dentistry) is from California and currently works at a Dental Clinic in Colorado. She enjoys sharing her love and knowledge of dentistry with her peers, as well as educating clients on dental disease and prevention. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her partner, Michael, and her dog, Penny Lee, while exploring all that Colorado has to offer.

Shana Sutton, LVT, VTS (Dentistry) started working in the Veterinary field in 1995 as a kennel attendant. In 1998, she was accepted into the very first Veterinary Technician program offered in Las Vegas, NV and obtained herlicense in 1999. She moved out of the city to a small town, started working in Elko Veterinary Clinic, and was promoted as the Dentistry manager. She has always had an interest in Dentistry/Oral Health for pets. In 2017, she met Stephanie Johnson at the Veterinary Dental Forum, who encouraged her passion for dentistry to pursue VTS and be her mentor. For credentialing, she traveled to Utah, Arizona, & Reno. In 2021, she was hired at Specialty Clinic, in Reno, NV, five hours away from home while still working full time. She is so grateful to be able to make a difference and advocate for oral health. This achievement is highly celebrated.

Carrie Winckler, CVT, VTS (Dentistry) started my career in the veterinary field in 1997 in general practice, obtained her CVT license in 2001, and continued in general practice until 2016. In 2016, she decided on a career change, and after some searching, she made the change to go to dental specialty. She started her dental career with a wonderful group, Arizona Veterinary Dental Specialists, and pursued her VTS in dentistry. She looks forward to learning new best practices, developing, and implementing new techniques to improve the quality of life for our patients who cannot take care of their own mouth. She enjoys teaching a higher level of dentistry care and loves spreading the word of how important dental health is for all animals. She has been involved with starting and instructing in the Thrive Dental Growth Program. This program helps obtain better goals for dentistry in Thrive general practices across the nation. While being involved in this program, she has learned so much and been able to connect with so many technicians who share similar goals which has been simply amazing! She has a fascination with elephants and hopes that one day the dental world and the elephant world will line up for her in some sort of way. In the meantime, she has her own little pack of pet’s, a chunk munk Frenchie named Duncan, a little batty like Chihuahua named Petrie and the most handsome cat ever named Hitch. She also has a beautiful 25 year old Daughter, Alyssa who has supported her VTS goal for all this time.

Katie Young, LVT, VTS (Dentistry) has been a Licensed Veterinary Technician in Seattle, WA since 2012. She has had a passion for dentistry since tech school and began working in dental specialty in 2015. Her passion for the field grew over the years and eventually motivated her to pursue the title of Veterinary Technician Specialist in Dentistry. When not working or studying she enjoys all manner of activities that allow her to enjoy the natural beauty of the world. She expresses gratitude to her fiancé, three cats, two guinea pigs, mentor, study group, friends, colleagues, and family for their support and encouragement in these pursuits.
